well, the countdown is on. today in less than 4 weeks i'll arrive in nagoya international. supposedly i'll be picked up by someone from one one of my two schools, be lead to a cheap business hotel (i'll be a businessman soon, remember? yes, it's also hard for me to imagine), relax for a few hours and then be lead to boot camp. one-week intensive training, where a lot of smiling and enthusiasm suppoedly is essential. after this madness i'll have 2-3 days to settle myself in and then it's off to sensei guido. i still don't know where exactly i'll be living, but i know that i'll be teaching 2 schools, 1 in akaike and the other in toyota, tue-fri, 12-8. that's right, i can sleep in, which is just grand.
news are sparse in metropolitan cawongla, i expect a little more to happen in nippon. the two single most interesting things happening in our hepcat family are purely materialistic. here goes:
huzza, new laptop!
ever since my old laptop wanted to party as well during last new year's eve it's been giving me problems. It must've been a bit of a cadbury, as it only took one good swig of spar lager (cheap beer, i admit) for it to behave very strangely. the hangover lasted about 2 weeks but then it was suddenly fine again, doing everything i asked it to. but then the rains hit the north coast and humidity went up'n'up and eventually it kicked the transistor bucket and is now peacefully resting in silicon heaven.
[enter asus z71v] ... tadaaa!!
it's pretty! and does everything I want it to do, most of the time, with the occasional hiccups etc. but overall it's great!!! aah...and it plays all my games! this could prove to be a hassle later on, actually. but right now (in buzzing cawongla, the north coast's high life spot) it's a godsend. all i need now is an internet connection. this might also explain why i'm harldy ever updating this friggin blog. also apaologise for eventual typos, still getting used to those fresh springs under the keys of this board. also:
huzza, new car!
daddy tried to be cool when he was dangling the keys of the 'new' car but that sarkle in his eyes just gave away everything. i mean, he must've felt like when i bought that piece of plasic i'm typing on now. it's a hyundai excel. which is nothing special . but it has a..pioneer stezza (radio) 6-CD stacker!! yeah baby. post noise rock has never sounded so good. unfortunately there is only one cd of this particular genre and like the rest of the hip crowd i'm waiting for the other 5 cd's to fill the 6-cd stacker. get a copy from www.solitune.ch, it's worth the 15 bucks, really.
rivetting news, aren't they? i'll report more once i've recovered from the hectic lifestyle this place presents. take care, sweeties.
