it's been a month and i finally feel guilty enough to post something again. it's been 3 weeks since i returned from tokyo and it certainly has been fun again. lots of roppongi and similar haunts, finally got around to checking around harajuku (a blast! image-google it, you'll see what i mean) also the fab omote-sando, a street lined with armani, prada, etc. the prada building was quite spectacular. i felt kind of intimidated when i walked in there, especially after i got told to 'please don't touch that' when i was playing with a little book full of fabric samples. there was gloves made of black crocodile skin (A$2000 for the pair) and similarly outrageous stuff. looked funky though. oh, and on the way there, i finally got to see fuji-san!!! very majestic indeed. i've been told that it's very ugly when you actually climb it though, just rocks, no plants. but a view to kill i'm sure. maybe if i feel particularly crazy. but probably not. laziness shall prevail! shinjuku madness we tried but it is too much to stand for a long time. i wanted to see all those mad neon signs. now i've seen them and that's all i can take. this place really does make your head spin. shinjuku station is the world's busiest station btw, moving 2-3 million people per day!
the fish market was closed. booo! oh well..so we went to disneyland instead. yay!
i was too old, but that didn't stop me from having fun. the same crew that already made gero an unsafe place to visit congregated again to see donald and micky eat sushi. on the way we decided to leave unnecessary baggage at the station and hence travelled lighter but definitely les entertained so we decided to go back and get him back. which we did. yay for ben! we arrived safely at the gates of this weird place. one woman, upon seeing a feathered friend, screamed "DONARUDU DUCKU!!" sending smiles rippling throught the crowds close enough to witness her utter surprise at seeing donald at disneyland. heehee...
we went on all the rides even the boring ones. yay again. the company helped. i also found the treehouse of the swiss family robinson, which is apparently a disney thing. they have a treehouse and on the lookout i found something at least resembling a swiss flag but it was all tangled up (in blue;) so i held it up high. all in all, a fun day. expensive, saccharine-sweet, superamericanised, weird but still fun. more soon.
