Evening!
tomorrow is the day of arrival for my 1. overseas visitor, it's kete-chan!!! hooray for kete! *hip hip.....HOORAY*

tomorrow is also the day of my first hanami or cherry blossom viewing party! hooray for sake!

2 weeks ago we went to see a sumo wrestling tournament!! It was great!!! I love osaka too, great city. we saw all the world's best some wrestlers. no. 1 is called the yokozuna and is mongolian. he never loses. there is a strange grace in that sport. ancient rituals like throwing salt are still practiced in the upper ranks. the newbies don't do it. foreigner now dominate the sport with the number two coming from bulgaria he's extremely popular and everybody knows him. lost that day though. we were like *WOW!* and *WHAT??* and *WHOA!!* heehee... sometimes even *WTF??*
There's some real beauties among those wrestlers (rikishi) like this one. huge sideburns being fashion right now, as a few of'em were sporting some massive side-growth. mmmm...sidegrowth..

after the wrestling we were all starving so hit town in search of the local specialty, okonomiyaki!! it supposedly translates loosely to 'as-you-like-it pancakes'. they are made with shredded cabbage, egg and whatever else you wan to have in there. the seafood one, filled with scallops, prawns and squid was especially good. it is then coated with a thick sauce that tastes not unlike worcestershire sauce and the dusted in seaweed and decorated with mayo. YUM!!! i think it's delicious.

after the well-deserved food we went in search of some well earned drinks and found them in numerous bars and clubs. as we didn't book a hotel we just oped for a karaoke marathon. passionate singing is something i've taken to here. and not just me! we also opted for the all-you-can-drink, which didn't stop me but had a devastating effect on ben, brandon and tim. it was all good fun though, even though i think ben was dangeroulsy close to an alcohol poisoning that night. now, what's his hand doing here? and just look at her face... : D

anyways..all in all it was a great ol'time. wish you coulda been there! so now everyone please follow kete-chan's example and book your ticket NOW! visitors are welcome after all. and don't you just wanna be here after witnessing just another typical weekend in japan? you know you want it! more soon! back to karaoke...
