SAKURA! aaah..the beauty of cherry blossoms, the smell of sake, char-grilled squid on a stick and fairy floss, drunk salarymen..much has been written about the spectacle that envelopes japan every spring, so i'm not gonna write much more. sufficient to say: i went to two hanami, drank not too much at each one, and generally behaved myself much better than expected.
Willierose and
I joined 8 other revelers to see the gorgeous flowers in iwakura, a nagoya suburb famous for its river lined with 1600 cherry trees. it was spectacular, especially the second time around, when all the blossoms had opened.
i found
some crazy weird bugs on a tree..any entomologist reading this...wtf are they?? i suspect fire bugs of some sort. i also saw
a saint.
my geekery period is almost over. here just
a screenshot of my 3D desktop in all its rotating, transparent beauty! i will upload the rest of the photos soon. bear with me! love,
