yes it has been a while indeed. there are two reasons for my lengthy absence:
1. i'm a uni student, and for about 3 weeks every semester, a uni student feels that he or she is a uni student and actually has to do some work.
2. my computer died. it must have fallen asleep, peacefully, while i was asleep. i was working on a difficult essay for 2 days in a row and it must've simply been too much for the poor thing. so it carked it..my warranty has run out, but since i bought it with my dad's gold-card (i paid him back, don't worry), the warranty is doubled by the card. nifty, isn't it? so once i get back to sydney, australia, i can hand over lappy to the good people at digitalstar to fix it and make it into a happy, benevolent zombie. yay!
in the meantime, i've made the purchase of the year with a mighty fine macbook, which curiously is 300 bucks more expensive in australia than anywhere else in the world! the macbook pro is even more expensive (A$500 difference!) than in the US store...i wonder why? does it cost that much to ship them to australia? well, anyway, i'm writing this on it now and it's bloody brilliant! never thought that it would make that much of a difference but it really does..go apple! it's very pretty and fairly lightweight too and generally will go where i go from now on.
also: not really the latest news anymore, but my mum came to visit! willierose and i went up to tokyo to meet her and hung out for 3 days. it was great to see her again, as it's almost been 2 years! crazy how time flies. well..i'll post some pictures again soon. they are luckily all safe on my external hard drive (phew!) at home in smelly toyota. check out flickr for some highlights.
i'm on the last day of a mini-holiday, which i spent studying diligently every day. what a nerd..
the countdown is on btw: i now have less than 6 months in japan, which i suspect will fly by similarly fast. after that it is hopefully still tour de monde, but i'm afraid that i'll have to cut a few countries out because of this expensive piece of glorified technology i'm typing away on now. more soon. love you all.x
