hooray!!
my buddy katsumi got me a very nice bday present!! He got me the black one and it's great. The lovely wr wanted to get me the touch originally, but it wasn't available yet on my actual birthday, which was good and bad. Good because i got an ipod and wr didn't have to spend any travel money, bad because i wanted the touch more and wr's was a bit miffed for having her thunder stolen and not knowing what else to get me. three days ago, i found a great little prezzy, though in shape of a cute little portable speaker that looks like a ufo/donut and that'll provide us with nice crisp beach bungalow sounds. yay!!

speaking of beach bungalows, we just paid for our tickets yesterday. the final itinerary had to be changed a wee bit in order to still be cheap as chips. it is now

Nagoya -> Manila -> Bangkok -> overland to Hanoi -> Sydney -> Cawongla

We'll spend chrissi in the philippines with wr's relos and then head over to BKK to hopefully party it up on NYE with reto..woohoo! then we're off to the north and will either travel via chiang mai in the north of thailand and later cut into laos and vietnam or go along the coast in the east of vietnam, we'll see. we'll have to do some researchin' and i'll get back to you. also put some hard-earned plastic cash down for some quality travel insurance, which we hopefully won't need, but i guess you never now. at this point a big thank you to mum and dad for the deposit! i could pay for the insurance with it, so i'm spending the money prudently ;)

reto got me some ipod socks but i woulda prefered the g-string instead ;) still cute tho. he got himself a classic beast, 80 gigs. nice! we're all turning into apple fanboys :S
