I'm home! Well, if Australia really is home, that is. I don't really have one anymore, a fact that sometimes makes me sad and one that also makes me happy at other times, when I realise that the World is now my home. Rather than being uprooted, I'm free to go wherever, more like a potted plant rather than a tree, firm in the ground. This pot is getting a little too small, though, and it seems like my whole being is reaching out for firm ground and a place to stay. Maybe it will be Australia. I'm going to look for a job this coming week (in fact, I've already started) and then for a place to stay. Willierose is here with me and she'll be able to stay until November! By then, I'll have finished my MA and will be able to go anywhere, maybe even the States, who knows?
On a sidenote, I'm tipping my long-gone hat to Kevin Rudd one more time. After ratifying the Kyoto Protocol, he has now apologised to the Stolen Generation of Aboriginals, a whole generation of kids who were taken from their parents in the 60s, much like the Gypsies in Europe. I watched it today on youtube and it made me cry.
Please watch it.
